As a EHS Manager, you are responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing EHS programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role focuses on maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace while driving continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance. The EHS Manager will collaborate with all levels of the organization to create and sustain a strong safety culture, minimize risks, and enhance overall operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:
Environmental Compliance:Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including air, water, and waste management laws.Develop and maintain environmental permits, reports, and documentation.Monitor and manage hazardous waste disposal, stormwater, and spill prevention programs.Conduct environmental audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.Implement sustainability initiatives to minimize the company’s environmental footprint.Health & Safety Management:Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.Investigate accidents, near-misses, and incidents, and implement corrective and preventive measures.Lead emergency response planning, drills, and crisis management strategies.Oversee and manage the implementation of safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.Monitor workplace conditions and recommend improvements to minimize hazards.Maintain records of safety incidents, training sessions, and compliance reports.Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety, health, and environmental regulations.Prepare and submit required reports, such as OSHA logs, environmental permits, and regulatory filings.Stay up to date with changes in EHS laws and regulations and update company policies accordingly.Training & Employee Engagement:Develop and deliver training programs on workplace safety, hazardous materials handling, and emergency response.Promote a culture of safety by engaging employees in EHS initiatives and best practices.Conduct new hire orientations and periodic refresher training on EHS policies and procedures.Risk Management & Continuous Improvement:Identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective measures.Develop and lead EHS improvement projects to enhance workplace safety and environmental sustainability.Collaborate with leadership to set EHS performance goals and track key performance indicators (KPIs).Serve as the point of contact for external regulatory agencies and auditors.


Work Experience
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.5+ years of experience in EHS management, preferably in a manufacturing, chemical, or industrial setting.In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar EHS management systems is a plus.Skills & Competencies:Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.Ability to conduct investigations and implement corrective actions.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS management software.Strong analytical and organizational skills.Ability to influence and train employees at all levels of the organization.Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):Certified Safety Professional (CSP)Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)OSHA 30/40 Hour CertificationHAZWOPER CertificationWork Environment & Physical Demands:Ability to work in an industrial setting with exposure to chemicals, noise, and heavy equipment.Standing, walking, and climbing for extended periods may be required.Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
