Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager with strong experience in construction and safety program implementation. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent experience and over 5 years of relevant experience. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage health and safety programs, conduct training, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
ResponsibilitiesPlan and implement health and safety programs, evaluate their effectiveness, and ensure compliance.Plan and conduct employee training programs.Perform pre-construction jobsite walkthroughs.Investigate near misses, accidents, and incidents to determine root causes and implement preventative measures.File necessary paperwork and documentation.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent experience.5+ years of experience in construction safety management.Experience implementing safety programs.Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety audits.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong understanding of health/safety and risk management principles.Thorough knowledge of health and safety laws and guidelines.Ability to prioritize tasks, especially during accident or incident management.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation.Attention to detail and strong analytical skills for inspections and investigations.Organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.Effective interpersonal skills to establish professional relationships with employees and project managers.Thorough understanding of federal, state, and city safety requirements, including OSHA.Effective leadership skills to motivate a team and provide feedback.Proficient with Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel) & Outlook.Work Environment
This is an on-site position requiring visits to client sites for pre-construction walkthroughs. When not in the field, the role is based in the office. The team consists of 90 people, and the role offers opportunities for growth into leadership. Benefits include a salaried position with bonus eligibility, car allowance, and cell phone allowance. The company has a strong presence in the area since the 1950s and operates in various construction sectors, including residential, commercial, industrial, heavy highway, and some federal projects, primarily in Delaware.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.26 - $62.50/hr.
