Job Description

The EHS Manager is responsible for building out a comprehensive Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP) to ensure the safe use, storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous chemicals across the organization. This role involves evaluating existing processes, implementing safety systems, and verifying PPE usage to protect against hazardous exposures. The goal is to develop a Chemical Hygiene Safety Plan that educates employees on chemical safety practices.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a comprehensive Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP).Evaluate existing processes to ensure appropriate employee safeguards and controls are in place.Provide guidance on handling specific hazardous situations to maintain a safe working environment.Verify the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across the organization.Develop and manage programs for the oversight and safe use, storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous chemicals.Provide chemical safety education to employees.Collaborate with different teams to improve safety practices and drive the organization forward.Communicate and interact with employees who may not be aware of PPE requirements, particularly in production areas.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in chemical safety, laboratory safety, or environmental health & safety in a manufacturing environment.Thorough understanding of OSHA, EPA, ACGIH regulations, and doctrines.3+ years of experience developing and managing a Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP).5 years of experience in safety management.At least 1 year of chemistry lab experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsACGIH membership or certification is a plus.Experience in industrial hygiene.Ability to understand and implement employee safety from a corporate perspective.Chemist by training, with a strong grasp of fundamental CHP concepts.Experience handling hazardous materials.Work Environment

The EHS Manager will develop and implement plans for other facilities. The work environment is collaborative, with a focus on continuous improvement and ownership of safety processes. Patience and motivation are essential as changes take time to implement.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.

Compensation package: health benefits, eligible first of month
HRA- $92/month and rest is picked up from company. No premiums outside of $15.
Dental: 100% coverage for anything outside of dentist. $2000/year. Preventative care is covered
Vision
Short term disability- automatically get 20 days
10-15 days of vacation on an accrual basis- can negotiate (looking at 3 weeks)
6 personal days a year- prorated basis based on when they start. Can receive after employed 60 days
8 paid holidays and 1 floating holiday
401K plan- first of month after hired and 6 months of employment. 100% vested after 6 months. 4.5% match. Profit sharing
3% bonus for all salaried employees
Holiday bonus- prorated how long with company ($1200 on average)
