EHS ManagerPosition Overview
Shaw Industries is searching for an EHS Manager to lead the safety, environmental, and security functions at the plant level and assist with Corporate-wide programs as needed. Ensure that the facility complies with federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations and all Shaw policies, procedures and best practices.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement all plant specific EHS elements that relate to the Shaw Management System (SMS) within the facility. Lead system audits to monitor compliance and to ensure continuous improvement.
Develop, manage and take ownership of all SAFE systems and safety compliance-related elements applicable to the facility. Create safety programs for the facility that are consistent with corporate programs and systems. Ensure that all associate training is provided to meet SAFE and OSHA requirements.
Champion, coach and promote a safety culture that encourages inclusion and empowers associates to be active around safety. Foster an environment where reporting is encouraged and follow up on corrective actions is promoted.
Serve as the liaison between facility management, DEHS Divisional and Corporate Risk Management personnel to ensure effective EHS programs are in place and that all necessary training is being conducted.
Partner with the Training Department to ensure all required EHS training is completed. Assist as needed with Safety Skills, presentations and content. If necessary, coordinate with Training and help as a trainer.
Serve as the site expert on Incident Investigations related to associate injuries, near misses, chemical incidents, property damage, etc. Approve all incidents in Cority.
Become a proficient user of the Cority EHS reporting system. Train facility personnel as needed to enter incident data. Monitor as necessary to ensure CAPAs are completed, and all data has been entered.
Serve as site administrator for the HSI SDS system. Ensure that facility SDSs are updated in the system. Champion the site chemical approval process within the system
Attend facility staff meetings and maintain open communications with facility management and DEHS resources related to facility EHS performance and efforts.
Develop a working knowledge of the Shaw Environmental Handbook. Develop, manage and take ownership of environmental programs as assigned by Corporate Risk Managment and facility management.
Coordinate and conduct annual internal Environmental, Safety and Security audits per SMS requirements. Ensure all corrective actions are addressed and updated in Cority.
Supervise EHS Technicians, PX conversations and IGD’s to encourage further development.
Investigate security incidents, coordinate these efforts with Risk Management.
Ensure that Security guards follow proper protocols for granting access to the site.
Maintain all security equipment to ensure operation. Cameras, access control, perimeter barriers, gates, etc.
Manage contractor safety when third parties are performing work at your site.
Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
Serve as the key resource for facility EHS matters.

Requirements:
Four-year college degree preferred.
Be self-motivated and possess good organizational skills.
Be able to meet deadlines through effective time management skills.
Display good work habits by having regular attendance and the ability to work well with others.
Proficiency in operating a PC, windows based, environment; must have knowledge of Microsoft 365, Cority, Workday and Avigilon.
Must have good presentation skills and work well in front of large groups.
Must be able to work off shift as necessary.
Travel to various facilities as needed.
Bilingual skills preferred.
