Westinghouse’s Global Operating Services Environment, Health and Safety organization is hiring an individual for the Career Catalyst Program, a program designed to rapidly expose potential leaders to various business units with growing responsibility.

 

The successful candidate will rotate through various business areas at Westinghouse, such as fuel manufacturing, instrumentation and control, and components manufacturing. Interested candidates should be eager to learn, think outside the box and be passionate about the Westinghouse Mission and its business functions while developing themselves as well.

 

The intent of the Career Catalyst Program is to support our growing business, develop leadership skills, display aspects of being a corporate steward and identify future career interests. We have one opportunity for the next cohort.

 

Your Day to Day:

 

Catalyst Program Elements

· Through a series of rotations, lead project work to strategically deliver value across multiple departments and/or global locations through planning, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork while gaining hands-on experience and developing a deep understanding of different functional areas within the organization

· For each rotation/department, develop an understanding of the strategic direction of the department and the business environment and evaluate how business strategies align with the overall direction of the business.

· Identify areas of improvement and utilize problem-solving and data analysis skills to propose effective solutions to enhance the overall efficiency of each rotational department.

· Develop a strong foundation of leadership skills

 

EHS Elements

· Participate in the development and implementation of EHS policies and procedures;

· Ensure compliance and conformance to EHS requirements and standards on a daily basis and provides coaching and reinforcement;

· Conduct risk assessments and engage in follow through actions from the risk assessments, including development and implementation of hazard controls;

· Investigate accidents and environmental incidents and liaising with engineers, management, and other stakeholders to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence;

· Provide advice and training on EHS protocols;

· Conduct and document audits, assessments and inspections to ensure compliance to EHS requirements and standards;

· Assist in the documentation and implementation of EHS best practices;

· Provide EHS support to site emergencies and advice on response protocols;

· Conduct industrial hygiene sampling and compiling data and reports;

· Attend and contribute to site and business unit EHS meetings;

· Work with contractors to ensure compliance with Westinghouse requirements

 

Note: GSP (Graduate Safety Practitioner) is required to be applied for within one year of graduation or obtain ASP (Associate Safety practitioner) with one year work experience.

 

Who You Are:

· Completion of a bachelor's degree in EHS, Safety or similar in late 2024 or spring 2025.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

· Eager to learn and develop

· Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

· Demonstrated leadership capabilities

· Comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while balancing multiple priorities

· Flexibility to relocate based on the specific job rotations

· Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
