Your Role

 

At MilliporeSigma, as the EHS Specialist 3, you will provide Industrial (Occupational) Hygiene, Safety & Environmental assistance to site management in the prevention of occupational injuries (and illnesses) and emissions to the environment.  This position possesses most technical skills of Safety Specialists/Engineers, Environmental Specialists/Engineers and Industrial (Occupational) Hygienists.  This position is dedicated to single site support.

Assist site management in the reduction of injuries and incidents.Assist site management in ensuring compliance with environmental, occupational hygiene and safety regulatory requirements.Ensure site personnel are competent in performing Risk Assessments and ensuring needed Risk Assessments are completed.Identify risk reduction methods and work with site management in implementing those methods.Conduct EHS related training, safety inspections and ensure site personnel are competent in performing safety inspections.Interact routinely with site management, supervision and personnel on EHS related matters.Prepare EHS compliance related reports and correspondence, both internally and externally (regulatory bodies).Ensure site is prepared for and ready to respond in the event of emergency.Ensure site’s EHS Management System is in place and functioning effectively to include: Policy, Planning, Objectives and Operational Control Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment & ControlLegal, Audit, Management Review and Record Management Implementation and OperationStructure and ResponsibilityTraining, Awareness and CompetenceConsultation, Communication, Document and Data ControlEmergency Preparedness and ResponseChecking and Corrective ActionPerformance Management and MonitoringAccidents, Incidents, Non-conformances, & Corrective & Preventive Action

 

Who You Are

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a science discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, etc.) 5+ years work experience in EHS or risk management5+ years work experience in manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Ten (10) or more years of EHS related experience in the chemical, specialty chemical and/or pharmaceutical industryCertified Associate Industrial Hygienist (American Board of Certified Industrial Hygienist) or Associate Safety Professional (Board of Certified Safety Professionals) preferred.  Comparable certifying organization within the hiring country/region would substitute for these requirements.Environmental compliance standards especially pertaining to laboratory operations.Occupational Health and Safety standards especially pertaining to pertaining to laboratory operations.Basic perimeter security methods.Thorough understanding of human behavior and musculoskeletal functions Emergency preparedness and response related to; security, fire, chemical, medical and nature caused events.

Pay Range for this position - $49,500 - $148,900
