EHS Specialist
Job Description Implement and maintain site level environmental programs, policies, and procedures at the Plant to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations, and internal corporate policies and standards. Ensure compliance with site specific Title V, NDPES, and Industrial Discharge Permits; Spill Prevention Plan and Storm water Protection Plan; and waste management regulations. Build working relationships and serve as the point of contact for regulatory agencies such as IEPA, EPA, and MWRD. Continually improve site specific programs and tools/software to execute environmental requirements. Provide information and guidance to site leadership regarding changes to government regulations, proposed regulations, data trends, and corporate standard changes that may impact the site. Skills and Requirements Bachelors or masters degree in scientific or engineering discipline. 5-10 years experience Extensive experience implementing environmental program in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in air regulations. Knowledge of all federal and state environmental laws and practices (e.g., Title V, RCRA, CWA, EPCRA, Class K Pretreatment Facility, etc.) Experience leading state regulators through audits and submitting annual regulatory reports. Skilled in database management, especially access databases. Expertise to understand the explicit details of all applicable regulatory requirements and what is required to maintain full compliance. Significant, direct, and practical experience dealing with environmental issues in an industrial plant setting.
