ABOUT THE POSITION

Position is responsible for supporting all aspects of Environmental, health, & safety issues for a facility or support EHS functions at multiple facilities; aggressively manage worker’s compensation and property risk and be able to support the facility leadership team to drive the success of the business.

Responsibilities Work with the Sr. EHS Manager on Safety Compliance programsDrive a safety-oriented cultureEnsure compliance and reporting requirements with all Federal, State and Local environmental and safety regulationsEstablish and maintain written Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) programsPerform and assist Departmental Supervisor/Manager and/or Sr. EHS Manager in EHS training for all facility personnelPerform New Hire Safety Orientation trainingAssist with Safety CommitteePerform EHS audits of the facility manufacturing and test areasConduct risk assessments related to jobs performedComplete and maintain all EHS recordkeeping for the facilityAssist with design and installation of environmental, safety and manufacturing equipment to ensure a safe and environmentally sound facilityProvide aggressive worker’s compensation case managementProvide guidance for property risk managementConducts detailed investigations, root cause analysis as well as makes resolutions and recommendationsIdentifies opportunities for and leads corrective actions and continuous improvement activitiesMay respond to emergency situations during standard work hours and after hours for the purpose of remediating EHS concerns.  Assists in emergency response and provides first aid treatment, as necessaryOversee Emergency Management (Emergency Response Team) program and training for all sitesConduct and/or support sites for Fire, Medical, and Shelter-in-place drills and prepare all sites to conduct these drillsOversee and support all Fire Systems and Fire Marshall InspectionsAssist Environmental Consultants with meeting EPA/RCRA standards Support Industrial Hygiene efforts such as respiratory program maintenance, noise mapping, ergonomic evaluations, and working with IH Consultants May perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in health and safety or related field required.Experience from a responsible health and safety position in a manufacturing setting 3 years preferredIncident Investigation: 3 years requiredFirst Aid & CPR Instructor experience is a plusCertified in HAZWOPER, Root Cause Analysis, RCRA, DOT, and OSHA preferredUnderstanding Industrial hygiene is a plus Knowledge of Worker’s CompensationStrong computer skillsU.S. Persons
