EHS Supervisor - Part Time

From endlessly recyclable aluminum cans, and cups, to aerosol bottles, our goal is to contribute to a better community, society, and world.** **Position overview:** As the EHS Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring a safe and environmentally responsible workplace. Reporting to the Plant Manager, with guidance from Regional EHS and support from the EHS Manager, you will lead the implementation of Ball Operational Excellence (BOE) environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives, as well as fire safety, property protection (FSPP), and sustainability programs. **Key responsibilities include** **:** + Collaborate with the Plant Leadership Team, Regional EHS, and the EHS Manager to implement and oversee the delivery of PHC and Global EHS strategy, KPIs, and programs through local initiatives. + Develop and drive behavioural safety and hazard reporting initiatives, such as near-miss, hazard, and good catch programs, to promote safe behaviours and foster a strong safety culture. + Identify and ensure compliance with EHS regulations, permits, licences, and other stakeholder requirements. Provide plant leadership with updates on compliance obligations, monitor adherence, and escalate issues as needed. + Encourage personal ownership of EHS responsibilities at all levels, ensuring employees understand and fulfill their safety and environmental duties. + Implement and maintain a hazard identification and risk assessment program covering normal, abnormal, and emergency conditions, integrating BOE, and hazard mapping methodologies. + Assess environmental aspects and manage significant impacts, including air emissions, waste, water, wastewater, energy, and VOCs. Develop and implement programs such as waste minimisation strategies and pollution prevention measures. + Oversee environmental protection infrastructure to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards. + Ensure timely reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis of EHS incidents and complaints, with corrective actions tracked and reported through corporate systems like Enablon and Alerts. + Establish monitoring and inspection programs to verify compliance with regulations, permits, and internal EHS management systems. + Partner with department leaders to develop and implement EHS programs, policies, procedures, and systems that effectively manage risks and ensure compliance. + Strengthen communication and consultation channels, overseeing the EHS committee and liaising with Safety Representatives to enhance awareness, engagement, and information sharing on EHS matters. **What are we looking for?** + Relevant EHS qualification (minimum certificate or local equivalent) including relevant qualification stipulated in the country of operation + At least 3 years EHS supervisory experience in a similar industry with shopfloor engagement and good knowledge of EHS risks and issues + Good knowledge of EHS legislative requirements + Excellent computer skills (Proficient in MS Office Suite) + Understands and demonstrates the foundational aspect of safety as a core value + Actively connects with and cares for people. Effectively uses the tools at their disposal to achieve better safety outcomes + Seeks feedback. Self-evaluates performance. Has a personal development plan.
