**The Opportunity**
This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Electrophysiology Medical Device Division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
This role will support the implementation and maintenance of environmental health and safety programs.The EH&S Technician plans, organizes, schedules and conducts inspections of facilities, work areas and equipment. Monitors site conditions, practices, and procedures for compliance with health and safety requirements. Selects and implements corrective action and follows-up to ensure proper action has been taken.
**What You'll Work On**
+ Partner with site EHS to determine site / departmental needs.
+ Support EHS in monitoring and assessing compliance to technical standards, site / departmental safety rules and OSHA guidelines.
+ Remain current on new and / or updated regulations.
+ Regularly inspect facilities, equipment, and work areas to identify potential safety hazards and non-compliance with environmental and safety regulations
+ Investigate workplace accidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
+ Collaborate with the EHS team to develop and implement safety programs and initiatives.
+ Ensure all safety documentation is current and accessible.
+ Conduct risk assessments to identify and prioritize workplace hazards, including chemical exposure, noise levels, ergonomic risks, and confined space hazards.
+ Maintain detailed records of inspections, safety incidents, training completion, and environmental monitoring data, generating reports for management.
+ Assist with the delivery of safety training programs to employees on topics like chemical handling, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, emergency procedures, and safe work practices
+ Work with other departments to promote a strong safety culture and address safety concerns.
+ Ensure periodic safety assessments on critical tasks are complete and documented with any action items outlined for gaps.
**Required Qualifications**
High School Diploma / GED required; associates degree preferred
Minimum 2 years environmental safety in a manufacturing environment with familiarity with OSHA standards, particularly general industry safety regulations.

The base pay for this position is $23.25 – $46.45 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
