Designs, develops, implements and oversees the organizations Environmental, Health and Safety programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities and to ensure that all facilities are in compliance with regulation. Responsibiilities are within the Environmental, Health and Safety Function as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Requires regualr movement throughout GD-OTS facilites.
Major Position ResponsibilitiesKnowledge, Skills & Abilities: Environmental compliance. Saftey best practices. Safety communications. Safety inspections. Safety training. Safety policies and procedures. Inspection documentation.
Implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal
environmental, health and safety regulations.
· Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and
makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly.
· Performs experiments and reports findings on environmental consequences of equipment,
tools, and procedures.
· May also design, install, operate and maintain measuring apparatus to determine the level of
pollutants involving air, land, and water.
· Identifies, assesses and resolves problems concerning the environment.
· Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure
manuals.
· Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast
of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
Basic QualificationsRequired Education & Experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 3-5 years experience OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
