As part of a passionate, and accomplished team of engineers and technicians, you will provide technical expertise and assist in implementation of all Environmental, Health and Safety programs at the Engine manufacturing facilities located in Huntsville, AL. This role will also support the Engine Test Stand located at Marshall Space Flight Center as needed.
Technical safety program areas include, but not limited to: OSHA General Industry and Construction standards, cryogenics, lasers, robotics, process safety management, and radiation safety. You must have a passion for continuous improvement of a safety culture, building agile safety processes, and solving sophisticated problems and providing operable solutions and be capable of acting with minimal direction on your initiative. You will be key in helping to maintain a culture that emphasizes accountability, discipline, and attention to detail at all levels.

Responsibilities:Assist the EHS Management and EHS Engineering staff with on-site compliance at the Huntsville manufacturing facilities.Support hazardous and non-hazardous process waste stream management along with recycling initiatives.Conduct daily compliance inspections to ensure compliance with the Blue Origin Health and Safety programs.Execution of emergency response plans.Indoctrinate employees and contractors on our Safety Program.Assist in investigations of injuries and illnesses, as well as near misses.Deliver EHS training.Serve as site focal point for safety issues and concerns.Administer personal protective equipment as required per job hazard analysis documents. Supporting development of job hazard analyses.Perform periodic audits of our Safety Programs.Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations.Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to our culture of inclusion.Qualifications:5+ proven years in operational EHS rolesMust be able to work weekday shift with extended work hours, and occasionally, some weekends as requiredKnowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulationsKnowledge of Injury, Illness and Near Miss reporting practices and processesMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:8+ years total work5 proven years in safety or environmental roles1-3 years in aerospace industryKnowledge of Alabama State safety and environmental regulationsHAZMAT, HAZWOPR, and/or emergency response team experienceApplications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
