Job DescriptionCalling all students! Oatey is currently seeking college students for our award winning 2024 Oatey Summer Internship Program. The program was created to support our growing organization by infusing it with bright talented students. Oatey offers a structured program that includes, learning and development, peer mentoring, meaningful team projects and most importantly community involvement which aligns with our Purpose, Values and Vision.
Oatey is seeking an Environmental, Health, Safety & Security Summer Intern to lead various EHSS projects of significance within the organization. The EHSS Intern will have the opportunity to partner with EHSS professionals within the corporate and field locations in promoting awareness of safety issues/concerns, reducing risk of occupational injuries, protecting our environment, and systems management.
Expectations & Accountabilities…
Review EHSS performance and analyze data for trendsPerform inspections/audits to maintain complianceReview and update EHSS policies and standard operating proceduresAssist in promoting safety awareness to all associatesConduct Job Safety Analyses in Assembly, Chemical and Plastics areasDevelop EHSS education content to be used across the organizationOther projects as assignedWhat you’ll need to be successful…
Education and Certification: Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for EHS Management, Occupational health and safety, Environmental studies or similar EHS related fieldKnowledge of regulatory agency requirements for OSHA and EPAAbility to work independently and with a cross functional teamAbility to prioritize tasks and meet or exceed deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with all levels within the organizationDesire to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentStrong capacity for critical thinking and problem solving-
