Performs diagnostic electrocardiograms. **Responsibilities:** + Positions and connects leads from electrocardiograph machine to electrodes on specified body areas. + Reviews patients record and instructs patients prior to procedures. + Monitors patient during procedures and reports any abnormal findings. + Identifies and corrects for wandering, interference, and artifacts. + Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation. + Maintains EKG equipment and supplies. + Other duties as assigned. **Education:** + High School Diploma or GED required. + Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology, Paramedic or Medical Assistant Program preferred. **Certifications:** + None required. **Complexity of Work:** + Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. + Must be able to work in a stressful environment. **Work Experience:** + Minimum of six months experience related to direct patient care or customer service preferably in a hospital setting required. + Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology, Paramedic or Medical Assistant Program may offset experience requirement. **Physical Requirements:** + Physical strength to assist patients into position for testing. + Physical strength to transport equipment to various locations throughout the Cleveland Clinic facility. + Extensive walking and standing. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
