Performs electrocardiograms (EKG) and other cardio graphic tests as directed by physician. Maintains and equips EKG machine and performs administrative tasks within the department. Records changes in electrical activity produced by the contraction of the heart using an EKG machine.
Responsibilities:
· Performs EKG and pediatric EKG testing following department policies and procedures
· Identifies patient and assists patient in preparing for testing
· Applies electrodes for EKG testing according to universal standards for lead placement
· Applies electrodes for pediatric EKG testing to include right-sided chest leads and posterior chest leads
· Applies electrodes for Signal Average EKG testing according to policy and procedure
· Answers questions regarding procedure in order to make patient as relaxed as possible
· Prepares EKG machine for daily use
· Checks equipment and supplies, as well as assembles basic EKG equipment
· Removes and cleans equipment at the end of shift

Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent required
· Current Basic Life Support Professional Certification required
· 1-3 years of technical experience, required.
