Required Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in education, instructional design, instructional technology, or post-secondary teaching discipline Two (2) years of secondary or post-secondary teaching experience Two (2) years of experience in course development or related training One (1) year of experience working with learning management systems One (1) year of experience with website design and development, including applying accessibility compliance techniques/standards (i.e., American Disability Act 508) and testing tools in creation and repairing of digital content Preferred Qualifications Quality Matters APPQMR Certification (Rubric 7); appropriate certifications or course work in digital accessibility At least two (2) years’ working experience in online secondary or post-secondary teaching At least one (1) year’s working experience with proprietary learning technology solutions At least one (1) year’s working experience with research methodologies and techniques, processes and standards for planning and implementing instructional design and development, instructional technology and non-technology media and materials development and implementation principles At least one (1) year’s working experience with ADA, W3C and 508 compliance Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of accessibility guidelines, WCAG, and ADA standards Knowledge of Learning Theory, instructional strategies, curriculum standards, and assessments Knowledge of the use and impact of different assistive technologies Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication Skilled using web design and HTML, computerized applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly while exhibiting strong attention to detail and organization Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Location TCC Connect Department CN eLearning Job Summary Reporting to the Senior Instructional Designer, the eLearning Instructional Designer- Accessibility is responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and providing online course development services and faculty training.
