Electric Bus Network Specialist, Indonesia

CDM Smith’s International Development Group is now accepting applications for the position of Electric Bus Network Specialist for a consultancy in Indonesia.
The Sustainable Urban Transport Project aims to support Djawatan Angkoetan Motor Repoeblik Indonesia (DAMRI), the state-owned bus operator, in replacing its aging fleet of internal combustion engine (ICE) buses with battery electric buses (BEBs). This initiative is aligned with the Asian Development Bank's (ADB) Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) for Indonesia (2020–2024), which emphasizes the development of high-quality, climate-resilient transport infrastructure. The project seeks to enhance public transport services, promote low-carbon mobility, and integrate smart technologies to create efficient, sustainable, and climate-resilient transport systems. The main objectives include improving public transport facilities, deploying BEBs and fast chargers, and enhancing the capacity for sustainable public transport operations.
The Electric Bus Network Specialist is indicatively planned for 3.0 person-months intermittent input over the 5 total months of the project. At least one short-term visit (~7-10 days) to the project office in Jakarta may be expected.
The specialist will be responsible for technical inputs for studies and preliminary network design of high-speed charging infrastructure, e-bus planning, and procurement for electric vehicles (EVs).
International and National (Indonesian) candidates with project experience both outside of Indonesia and in Indonesia, and other SE Asia regional/Indonesia-based specialists with international experience, are encouraged to apply.
