Job Description
The Electrical Applications Engineer plays a crucial role in the engineering, design, and manufacturing of equipment for all markets. Some of the equipment produced includes pump stations, reverse osmosis/water treatment equipment, control panels, and power distribution equipment. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong technical experience, exceptional problem-solving skills, and effective customer communication abilities. The Electrical Applications Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the sales team and customers to understand project requirements.Read specification and project scope documents through the bidding process.Develop preliminary engineering concepts and solutions for equipment.Evaluate feasibility and provide input on design and performance parameters.Prepare accurate and competitive pricing proposals for customers.Collaborate with vendors for component selection, pricing, and application.Maintain pricing documentation and stay updated on cost factors.Serve as a primary point of contact for customers throughout the of the project lifecycle.Address customer inquiries and technical concerns, providing timely responses.Build and maintain strong customer relationships to enhance client satisfaction.Work closely with the sales team to identify opportunities, tailor proposals, and assist with closing deals.Provide technical support during sales presentations and customer meetings.Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and best practices related to packaged equipment in relevant markets.Continuously improve technical knowledge and expertise in product offerings.Provide technical guidance to internal teams and customers.Collaborate with various departments, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality control, to ensure project success and adherence to specifications.Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to coordinate project handoff to the project management team.Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, project details, and engineering concepts.Prepare reports, project summaries, and technical documentation as needed.Ensure that engineered solutions meet industry standards, regulations, and company quality standards.Collaborate with the quality control team and project management team to address any quality-related issues.Identify and resolve technical challenges and issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.Implement effective solutions to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.Essential SkillsAssociate degree or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electrical design, electrical drafting, electrical systems, electrical technology, mechatronic, electromechanical, or a related field.Preferred 2+ years of experience in a similar role within the equipment manufacturing industry (Applications Engineer, Product Engineer, or Technical Sales).Proficiency in engineering software and design tools - AutoCAD Electrical.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Knowledge of electrical code and relevant industry standards and regulations.Experience working with industrial control panels.Experience creating and reading electrical schematics.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of PLC, HMI, and VFD.Customer service skills.Experience in electrical design, UL508a certification is preferred.Must be a team player, willing to perform tasks outside of the job description, take initiative when appropriate, and open to constructive criticism.Work Environment
Office environment with normal daytime hours from Monday to Friday. Occasional travel up to 10% may be required for learning opportunities. At times, this role may require spending time on the manufacturing floor collaborating with machine operators and assembly groups on projects. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00
