Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Electrical Apprentice to join our team!
This position requires approximately 75% travel overseas to support Government facilities. The candidate must possess, at a minimum, the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. Additionally, candidates must pass and maintain a yearly medical clearance.
Typical assignments are frequently performed in both internal and external environments with a variety of weather conditions. The ability to work under extreme hot or cold weather conditions with exposure to dust or dirt is routine and may require the use of protective personal equipment (PPE).
What You'll Be Doing:
Install, maintain, and repair security systems in compliance with Department of State regulations and contract requirements.
Install conduit installation, including both electrical metallic tubing (EMT) and rigid Conduit pipe (RGS), to facilitate the wiring. Performed under the supervision of a Journeyman level electrician.
Utilize power tools and equipment, including drills, saws, and conduit benders, to complete installation tasks safely and efficiently.
Operate man lifts and other aerial equipment as needed to access installation locations at varying heights.
Learn to read and interpret schematics, and electrical drawings to plan and execute installations accurately.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
At least 18 years of age or older.
High School Diploma, GED or Equivalency.
Able to pass Basic Skills Test, Multi-Craft Aptitude Test, Color Identification Test and Drug Screen.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Possession of at least a Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
Ability to pass and maintain a yearly medical clearance for overseas work.
Experience in conduit installation, including EMT and rigid pipe, as well as conduit bending techniques.
Experience using power tools and equipment commonly used in electrical installations.
Learn to read and interpret schematics and electrical drawings accurately.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams in a dynamic environment.
Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor, particularly when working in sensitive government facilities
