To carry out timeous scheduled, preventative and emergency maintenance work within the university.
Brief DescriptionMaintenance Work
Execution of all jobs (refurbishments, alterations included), as per Job Cards Deliver Planned and Reactive Maintenance Service covering full Facilities Management Spectrum on Electrical Installation Conduct maintenance of Electrical Equipment in accordance with Maintenance Schedule Conduct repair tasks which may involve hand-held devices, machinery and equipment Installation of Wiring Systems and Equipment Fitting and commissioning of Electrical Installations
Housekeeping/Machinery & Equipment Handling
Correct use and handling of maintenance and repairs equipment as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Safe handling of machinery and equipment as per (SOP s)/guidelines Identify and report potential problems/faults/hazards on equipment for investigation and repairs Materials/tools used to be cleaned and stored as per guidelines Proper housekeeping of work areas
Occupational Health & Safety and Property Risk Management
Ensure that the areas that have been maintained or repaired provide a safe and fit for purpose environment for use by the University community Attend OHS Training and toolbox talks Use of PPE s at all times Application of Safe Working Procedures
General
Efficient usage of Maintenance and Repairs Hand-held Devices Material Safety data Sheets (MSDS) to be available and on display at all times All equipment and consumables are for University related maintenance work only All work to be carried out in an organized bad efficient manner and within allocated timeframes May be required to work overtime as an when required Maybe on standby as and when required.
Required Academic Qualification/s (and Professional Registration/Trade where applicable):
3-5 years in Electrical Maintenance Field N3-N4 in electrical Engineering Electrical Trade Test ORHVS switching course (added advantage) Diesel generator course (added advantage) Photovoltaic course (added advantage) HVAC course (added advantage)
Licenses:
Valid Driver s License Own car

Building Audits Experience Building Maintenance Experience Computer Literacy Electrical Standards MV switching
