Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Assembler for Switchgear to assemble, wire, and test electrical switchgear and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams, and experience in working with switchgear or similar electrical systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability and safety of power distribution systems.

ResponsibilitiesAssemble switchgear panels, control cabinets, and other components based on engineering drawings and specificationsWire electrical components, including circuit breakers, relays, transformers, and busbars, according to schematicsTerminate and connect cables, wires, and other electrical componentsPerform continuity and functional tests on wired assemblies to ensure proper operationIdentify and correct wiring or assembly errorsTroubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in switchgear systemsEnsure wiring and assembly comply with electrical codes, industry standards, and company quality requirementsAdhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Keep work areas clean and organized to maintain a safe working environmentReview and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specificationsDocument wiring changes, issues encountered, and resolutions for future referenceCommunicate progress and challenges to supervisors or project managersWork closely with engineers, production teams, and quality control staff to meet project deadlinesParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiencyMay involve standing, bending, and repetitive tasks for extended periodsOccasional overtime or shift work to meet project requirementsEssential SkillsExperience in working with switchgear or similar electrical systems (3+ years)Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagramsHigh school diploma or equivalent (required)Proven experience in electrical wiring, switchgear assembly, or related workFamiliarity with various electrical components, including circuit breakers, relays, and power distribution unitsAbility to read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematicsProficient in using hand and power tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, drills, and screwdriversBasic knowledge of electrical standards and codesAdditional Skills & QualificationsProficiency in using hand and power tools including wire strippers, crimpers, drills, and screwdriversExperience in electrical wiring and assemblyKnowledge of electrical standards and codesWhy Work Here?
