Job Description

In this position you will work on robust machinery support and modifications that help customers to improve their production output. The Electrical Assembler will wire, assemble and power up industrial automation machines, equipment, and their subassemblies by following blueprints, schematics, and other written and verbal specifications.

Work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineers, and Production to ensure a successful product. With this position you will have a tremendous opportunity to grow your career within Automation Technology at MiTek.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities:

Update, evaluate, and support automated industrial machinery products with focus on new solutions.

Perform electrical assembly of industrial automation electrical panels and point-to-point wiring.

Participate in the creation of support documentation as it relates to machinery repairs and troubleshooting.

Integrate/test/update/debug NFPA79/NEC/UL508A compliant electrical control panels, parts & assemblies using industry best practices.

Integrate, test, update and debug industrial PLCs, VFDs, Servo drives.

Integrate, test, update, debug industrial machinery safety standards, safety instrumentation and controllers.

Review/stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Provide design feedback and opportunities based upon assembly.

Provide hands on assembly, wiring, startup of prototype machinery.

Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes but is not limited to the ability to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the work area ready for work at the start of the shift.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proactive individual with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic aptitude.

Must possess good electrical background with the ability to use hand tools and small power tools

Ability to read a scale or tape rule with 1/32 inch increments accurately.

Ability to read and follow electrical drawings and schematics and have a general knowledge of layout work.

Experience in assembling electrical systems including motors, servo motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, rack pinion, conveyors, etc.

Basic understanding in NFPA79/NEC/UL508A and willingness to improve knowledge.

Ability to read and understand PLC program logic and Ladder diagrams.

Demonstrated ability to identify issues and provide sound practical solutions. 

Exceptional trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).

Knowledge of industrial machinery and robotics highly preferred.

Electrical related degree highly preferred.

Licensed electrician with current certification highly preferred.
