Job Title: Electrical Certification Scheme Manager (Lighting)
Location: Remote Worker (With occasional travel)

About the role:
As our Electrical Certification Scheme Manager for Lighting Products, you will be responsible for the effective management and development of Lighting Certification Schemes within the electrical certification team. You will deliver high-quality, “right first time” product evaluation, achieving client satisfaction and achieving company commercial targets.
The position involves full lifecycle management of client certification projects, reviewing of relevant standards and ensuring changes are transitioned and delivered accordingly. You will be working closely with testing teams, undertaking technical review of test reports and the recommendation for the issue of certification across various schemes and Kitemarks.
The position will also require proactive attendance at client meetings, trade shows, and technical committee meetings. There will be a requirement for travel to our Testing Laboratories, Client Meetings and site Audits both within the UK and overseas.
It would be preferrable if candidates for this position have knowledge of 17025, and practical experience with lighting safety testing standards, and the ability to write detailed test plans for safety compliance testing.
Person Specification
In-depth knowledge of essential safety lighting standards, including the 60598 and 61347 series, and/or other internationally accepted relevant lighting documents and procedures.Experience with ISO 17025 compliance requirements for testing.Experience in creating detailed and comprehensive test plans for a variety of lighting products, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all testing requirements.Experience in Certification techniques used by BSI or similar Certification Bodies. Including knowledge of the quality requirements would be a distinct advantage.Experience in the preparation of technical quotations.Ideally educated to degree level in a technical discipline such as Electrical or Electronics, or other means of demonstrating technical learning capability.Excellent verbal and written communication skills – capable of communicating technical issues to a wide audience, including clients with limited technical knowledge and clients who do not use English as a first language.General knowledge of business principles and operating practices (commercial awareness)General level of IT literacy and capability of learning and adopting new systems e.g. BSI internal systems.Ability to work as part of a team and to tight time scales, in particular as part of a remote team.BSI offers a competitive total reward package, an independent and varied job in an international environment, flexible working hours, ongoing training, and development with the inclusion of Annual Bonus, Contribution Based Pension, Private Healthcare, 27 Days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays, Life Assurance.
