Electrical / Civil Project Coordinator

Black & McDonald Limited (Atlantic Region) is actively seeking an Electrical / Civil Project Coordinator. This position reports directly to the Utility Project Manager for the Dartmouth, NS location. The position involves working on a full range of projects which would include commercial, government and institutional markets.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Provide leadership for assigned projects regarding cost, schedule, quality, safety, and contract performance Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards as per company policy and contract specificationsEstablish and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders including Black & McDonald team members, clients, consultants, trades, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and the community, while keeping them informed of relevant information Plan, prepare, monitor, and manage construction schedule and milestonesEnsure work is performed in compliance with applicable standards – i.e. HSE regulations, company policies and procedures, and contract requirementsMonitor and report on progress, labour productivity, work outcomes, budget, cost, and forecastReview work/contracts/WIP for areas of risk and correct deficienciesOrder material and equipment for the projectsEnsure monthly cost forecasting and checklists are completed accurately and on timeEnsure accurate productivity reports are completed weeklyPrepare estimates of materials, labour and equipment based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specificationsTravel to various worksites or client locationsOther duties as assigned

Communicates Effectively Customer FocusProblem Solving and Innovation Teamwork and CollaborationComplete B&M in-house training program for coordinators3-5 years of in the Electrical / Civil Industry would be considered an asset.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Construction Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Project Management.

Construction scheduling, planning, and executionBusiness operations processesOrganization and time managementMust be able to obtain a Level II Secret clearanceWilling and able to travel throughout NS as needed
