Electrical Construction Supervisor
  Job Overview

G2 Energy (G2E) are high voltage electrical and civil engineers who are a NERS accredited Independent Connect Provider (ICP) and can provide Contestable Works up to 132kV, as well as National Grid 275-400kV.

The Electrical Site Construction Supervisor will have a strong technical electrical background in LV & HV with the supporting qualifications. The role itself will support the Project Manger in delivering/supervising electrical works/tasks on G2E projects.

 

Main Duties include:

Drawings & Specifications: Familiarise yourself and comply with the project drawings & specifications e.g. DNO, G81. Liaise with G2E designers as applicable. Supervise electrical works on site including: The install of all types of commonly used wiring and wiring accessories. Electrical installations of both Low and High voltage Mechanical fitting and assembling works relevant to HV switchgear - et: Multicore cabling, tray work, conduit etc. The install of ancillary equipment example: meters, instruments, relays and protection equipment The install of below/above ground  earthing for Substation compounds, containerised substations and other equipment on site. Above and below ground ducting, cabling Inspection testing and commissioning electrical installation equipment Communication: Liaise, communicate effectively and timely with G2E colleagues, suppliers and sub-contractors as required. Programme of Works: Provide updates to the PM on the works completed to support updating the Programme Street Works: Ensure any street works are Sect 50 in line NRSWA Act. NJUG: Comply with NJUG guidelines. Sub-Contractors/Suppliers: Familiarise yourself with and manage G2E sub contractor/supplier processes and procedures, produce scope of works, liaise with G2E Commercial as required, review T&Cs, and RAMS as required. What we are looking for 5+ years working in in the electrical industry installing LV/HV (HV experience is essential) including, switchgear, transformers, generators, sub stations etc. Be able to interpret electrical drawings and specifications. Knowledge of relevant and up to date, Electrical industry standards, processes and procedures. Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and compliance on construction sites (including CDM, HSE specific guidance e.g. HSG 47). Good  understanding of MS Word, Excel & Outlook. Experience installing electrical works up to 132kV (not essential) Have knowledge of DNO G81, Sect 50, SAP and/or DNO authorisations (LV & HV)
