SUMMARY:
The Andersen Windows 100 series team is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering, controls, and a passion for strategic thinking. As part of our dynamic team, you will help drive equipment continuous improvement initiatives, implement innovative solutions, and help shape our electrical engineering team’s strategic direction. You will be a key contributor in implementing new and exciting technologies throughout our 220,000 sq. ft. climate-controlled facility in Garland, Texas. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead projects and initiatives related to mechanical improvements, obsolescence, innovation, and troubleshooting.Project management skills: deliver safe, effective, sustainable, and reliable solutions (Equipment specification, preventative maintenance, acceptance plans, design review, safety assessments).Lead prioritization, organization, and communication of controls and electrical projects and initiatives.PLC programming and operator screen developmentElectrical project management working with delivery partners to assure specifications and code requirements are followed.Participative team approach to problem solving and root cause analysis with associates, supervisors, maintenance, operations, and engineering.Support maintenance and operations team with advanced controls troubleshootingAssess current vs future electrical technology capabilitiesMust be able to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings for equipmentCoach, mentor, and train developing technicians and interns.


QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Technology, or a similar field (Bachelor's degree preferred) 3-10 years engineering experienceStrong knowledge of PLC's (Allen Bradley, ControlLogix, RSLogix preferred), HMI's, drives, and control systems.Strong knowledge of servo motion control (Kinetix preferred); design, troubleshooting, and program requirements.Experience with AutoCAD skills preferred.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, highly motivated, organized and self-disciplined.Strong mechanical backgroundComfortable with hands-on troubleshootingComfortable with a manufacturing facility setting and equipmentStrong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
