As The Electrical Design Engineer will support Baker Hughes Pressure Pumping Technology division with detailed electrical design of oilfield equipment and tool concepts, combined with lab testing and field trials of prototypes. This role reports to the Pressure Pumping Technology Equipment & Tools Development Manager. The right candidate must be capable of creating new electrical tool component concepts, based on field requirements and/or direction from product development stakeholders. They must be capable of detailed electrical engineering analysis, taking a leadership design role, interacting with other team members, and have excellent communication skills.

As a Electrical Design Engineer , you will be responsible for:

Electrical conceptualization based on field specifications or detailed requirementsDetailed electrical engineering analysis on component partsInteract with team members or support staff to complete designs and to create prototype equipmentInteract with team members or support staff to inspect and assemble prototype equipmentInteract with team members or support staff to assist/direct prototype testing, and to design test fixturesHands on electronics testing and troubleshootingDevelop field trial plansProvide on-site field supervision to support the new technologyOversee any design changes from field trial and prepare for handoff to production departmentProject leadershipLiaison with operations subject matter expertsDirecting and/or responding to timelines and budget requirements

To be successful in this role you will:

Electrical Engineering Degree is required (Masters preferred)3-5 years Electronics design of digital and analog circuits3-5 years Experience with electronics for high temperature applications3-5 Schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium3-5 years experience with Electronic circuit simulation using SPICE3 years experience with embedded firmware such as (PIC, ARM or AVR)Liaison with Mechanical Engineers and familiarity using SolidWorks5+ years’ experience with oilfield equipment or tools design is preferred
