Overview We are currently seeking an Electrical Designer with 5+ years of professional experience to be part of our design team in the Santa Ana / Irvine, CA office. Under general direction of a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the prospective candidate will perform the transportation field and office electrical, electronic, and related traffic engineering work of relating to Traffic Signals, Lighting Systems, ITS, and TMS elements. The candidate will act as engineer supporting in all project phases, and will prepare and review the plans, specifications, and estimates. Responsibilities Provide electrical engineer support with preparing and reviewing plans, specifications and estimates of Ultimate and Temporary Traffic Signal Systems, Highway Lighting Systems, Sign Illumination Systems, CCTV Systems, Fiber Optic Systems, Traffic Monitoring Station Systems and Traffic Census Station Systems. Manage multi projects concurrently. Provide technical knowledge and supervision for standards of the electrical design and coordinate with fellow designers. Provide direction on corrective methods to address design problems. Assist in all project phases and provide design recommendations or design innovation. Prepare correspondence and reports. Investigate problems in transportation electrical systems and provide solutions. Implement the electrical current design standards. Identify changes in scope of work as needed. Coordinate with design team as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering (EIT or PE is a preferred). Experience on Caltrans Electrical Design projects. (5+ years relevant experience is highly preferred) Working knowledge of CADD software such as Micro-Station (preferred) and AutoCAD. Able to use traffic analysis software and visual lighting analysis software. Able to train team of designers for work as needed. Able to work with fast-paced schedule. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effectively communicates with team members and clients. Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
