Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer
Job Description
The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for power distribution, low voltage infrastructure design for IT and security systems, lighting design, low-voltage systems including fire alarm, security and controls, calculating loads, fault current, and voltage drop, performing field surveys, and construction phase support.
Responsibilities
+ Design power distribution systems, including riser diagrams and panel schedules.
+ Create low voltage infrastructure designs for IT and security systems.
+ Develop lighting designs, including fixture selection, controls, and lighting calculations.
+ Design low-voltage systems such as fire alarms, security, and controls.
+ Calculate electrical loads, fault current, and voltage drop.
+ Conduct field surveys and provide support during the construction phase.
Essential Skills
+ Associates or Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Design
+ Proficiency in Revit.
+ Experience in power distribution and low-voltage systems.
+ Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and standard industry design practices.
+ 2-5 years of experience in MEP electrical engineering
Work Environment
The work environment is within a small to medium-sized firm with approximately 25 employees. The company focuses on MEP for industrial and commercial projects and is expanding into cannabis manufacturing grow houses. The culture is anti-corporate, friendly, and emphasizes work-life balance. Located in Raytown, the company promotes flexibility and a collaborative atmosphere. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00
