Electrical Design Engineer
Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Fairfield, OH. This role involves overseeing and driving the direction of electrical systems through decision-making and design oversight. The Electrical Engineer will work with key stakeholders, vendors, and customers to develop electrical systems for various projects.

ResponsibilitiesFully understand high (e.g., 13.8KV) and medium voltage electrical systems, components, and panels.Design electrical systems including switchgear, power distribution panels, control panels, conduit, and wire routing drawings.Conduct arc flash/safety studies as required.Provide customers with all necessary CAD drawings for project completion.Specify all components (parts) needed for project completion.Collaborate with sales to obtain quotations for new equipment, review customer electrical requirements, and size proposed equipment.Verify the accuracy of vendor designs.Properly size transformers and switchgear equipment, ensuring designs have proper clearances per codes and regulatory requirements.Review and ensure the accuracy of utility drawings provided to the customer.Work with manufacturing and installations to answer any electrical questions.Understand customer specifications and governing codes and incorporate them into the design.Ensure electrical standardized procedural documentation is accurate, up to date, and utilized.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience5+ years of experience working with high and medium voltage electrical equipmentExperience with root cause and risk analysisStrong understanding of NEC, CSA, and other relevant codesProficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorksExperience with electrical layout, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematic drawingsAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with root cause and risk analysisStrong understanding of NEC, CSA, and other relevant codesProficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorksExperience with electrical layout, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematic drawingsWork Environment

This position is based at the DirectAir facility located in West Chester, OH. The facility has around 50 employees, including an engineering team of about 10. It is a clean environment that requires work both in the office and on the floor.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $57.69
