Electrical Design Engineer
3+ years of experience designing/troubleshooting electrical components in a manufacturing environment. They will also have experience working with heavy industrial equipment design and/or automotive experience. Bachelors Degree is required- (Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics) 1. Familiarity with electrical systems and related components used in the transportation industry for low voltage DC applications (12V, 24V systems) a. Ability to size wiring, fuses, and other electrical components based on circuit and industry requirements b. Experience working with common connectors and related tools: Deutsch DT, DTM, and HDP series, Aptiv Weather-Pack and Metri-Pack series c. Comfort level with on-vehicle testing, prototyping, and production support d. Willing to build a harness for testing (production, bench testing, R&D support) 2. Experience troubleshooting electrical systems a. Working with diagnostic tools (multi-meters, test lights, etc.) b. Using PCAN or other CAN-tracing software c. Over-the-phone with the service team for field issues 3. Comfort with performing wire harness design and documentation a. Creating harness drawings and schematics using Visio/Solidworks Electrical 4. Experience with CAD systems a. Creating new part files (with supplier models for purchased parts) b. Creating assemblies and mating c. Creating drawing files, adding views and bills of materials 5. Controls knowledge a. Experience with Codesys software b. Experience with IFM hardware and software c. Knowledge of ladder logic and function block programming d. CANBUS (J1939, CANopen) Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
