The role 
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll provide support to the Senior Electrical Engineers and Technical Compliance Authority Manager in implementing all non-nuclear safety implicated electrical design requests for HMNB Clyde.

 

Day to day you'll have responsibility for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintain the design intent of all systems to ensure they are safe to operate from a design perspective as well as, conducting asset surveying activities across our equipment/buildings and infrastructure.

Provide of conceptual and detailed electrical and building services engineering designs Fulfil design authority role of setting brief/specification, conducting review/approval of third-party designs and monitoring implementation where necessary Provide support on base/depot wide projects in accordance with programme requirements Support other naval base and depot organisations with respect to reviewing and approving design proposals, contract specification documents to ensure compatibility standards Ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the Company’s cost, time and quality requirements


This role is full time 36 hours per week Monday to Friday and is based at HMNB Clyde, near Helensburgh.

 

Essential experience of the Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical design, electrical systems, and equipment (High voltage, low voltage, and hazardous areas) Operational manual documentation for new facilities/equipment Statutory and Regulatory requirements including DSEAR Regulations Engineering Drawings and schematics

 

Qualifications for the Electrical Design Engineer

HNC/HND Electrical Engineering or City & Guilds 2396–01 Level 4 Award in Design & Verifications & ideally 18th Edition - City and Guilds OR Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, working towards incorporated or chartered, or equivalent and proven track record

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
