Electrical Design Engineer - Power Supply



Job Description:

Design and Development Support:

Assist in the design and development of VPS power supply products. Responsibilities include: Constructing circuits on breadboards for testing new electrical circuitry. Conducting electrical evaluations of products. Gathering and preparing data from various experiments, electrical tests, and analytical evaluations. Performing failure analysis using a range of analytical techniques. Processing prototype kits for verification testing and design approval during product qualification.

Engineering Analysis:

Apply technical expertise in engineering analysis, particularly in high-frequency switch mode power supplies and topologies for power supply circuits/systems. Evaluate electrical components and circuitry for complex power components.

Sustaining Engineering Support:

Provide support for sustaining engineering activities on existing product lines. Assist in maintaining and improving existing product designs and serve as a liaison between customers, Sales, and Applications Engineering teams. Involved in various design elements, including electrical design, component selection, simulation/testing, PCB layout and assembly, and product specification.

Product Development:

Develop product planning schedules, draft test and qualification plans, and create objective specifications. Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure the smooth introduction and manufacturing of highly reliable products. Produce comprehensive product documentation, including bills of materials, test specifications, assembly instructions, and PC board drawings.

Education / Qualifications:

BSEE required, MSEE preferred. 5+ years of experience in switch mode power supply design. Extensive knowledge of high-frequency switching power supply topologies and control architectures. Proficient in power conversion design, including high-frequency magnetic design, circuit design and analysis, circuit simulation, layout considerations, feedback control theory, and EMC compliance. Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented and self-motivated approach. Excellent leadership skills as both a team player and individual contributor. Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with simulation tools such as SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, Pspice, OrCAD, Mathcad, MATLAB, and Excel. Experience and working knowledge of firmware is a plus

Pay Details: $78,000.00 to $127,000.00 per year
