Job Description
As our new Electrical Engineer, you will be part of our Engineering Department, which consists of a multi-discipline design/engineering staff focused on the industrial manufacturing and water and wastewater treatment markets. You will work closely with our Lead Electrical Engineers, focusing on engineering solutions for our clients and supporting projects in offices across the US. Your responsibility will be to provide electrical engineering designs and support over the project’s total life cycle, including from technical studies, front-end loading stages, detailed engineering design, constructability reviews, and construction support.
ResponsibilitiesReview and analyze project requirements, codes, and standards to ensure compliance with regulations and client specifications.Perform design calculations and prepare technical reports and specifications.Develop engineering drawings utilizing Autodesk Revit and AutoCad.Design and engineer power distribution systems based on the National Electrical Code and on client specifications.Design and engineer facility lighting systems.Design and engineer grounding systems.Develop power panel schedules.Design and engineer motor control systems.Create process instrumentation wiring diagrams and schedules.Prepare proposals and fee estimates.Serve as project electrical lead engineer to deliver engineering projects in accordance with client and company standards and agreed upon schedules.Communicate effectively with the project team, including outside contacts, customers, and other engineering departments.Mentor early career Electrical Engineers and Designers.Act as a leader in implementing and promoting health and safety requirements and guidance.Effectively utilize established quality control processes and regularly communicate project status to the project manager or project owner.Demonstrate commitment to delivering high quality work products to our clients.Develop less experienced employees and build client relationships.Review shop drawings to ensure compliance with design specifications.Conduct site visits and inspections as required to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards.Develop construction cost estimates.Develop construction closeout punch lists.Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.5+ years of qualifying engineering experience in the engineering/design field.PE license or desire to pursue PE licensure.Experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).Practical experience with engineering calculations (Short Circuit, Overcurrent Protection Coordination, and ArcFlash) utilizing computer modeling software.Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).Practical experience with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD MEP.Practical experience with lighting design software AGI32 or similar.Understanding and application of electrical engineering fundamentals.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in electrical engineering with a focus on water and wastewater treatment, industrial, and manufacturing facilities.Proficiency in developing engineering drawings.Ability to prepare technical reports and specifications.Experience in mentoring junior engineers and designers.Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, with the flexibility to work from home 3 days a week and in the office 2 days a week (Tuesday mandatory).
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $48.00
