The Electrical Designer is responsible for creating electrical schematics, layouts, and assists with the installation and commissioning of production equipment. Performs design computations using electrical drafting knowledge. Designer must develop safe, electrical diagrams. Sends schematics out for quotes at various suppliers for panel builds, at times may visit suppliers to conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). Responsible for creating and maintaining schematics library for all manufacturing equipment. Works closely with Maintenance and within Process/Controls Engineering groups to ensure successful outcomes. This position is a hybrid role with combination of remote and onsite work in Apple Valley, and reports to the Manager, Electrical Controls Engineering.
What will you do?
-Update and create electrical schematics, using CAD Electrical software. Design and draw electrical panel layouts. Ability to correctly size and spec electrical components.
-Update electrical BOMS in CAD Electrical software.
-Provides quotes, engaging with suppliers to ensure understanding of requirements and specifications, delivery dates, etc. Provides quote information to manager for decision making.
-Commissioning and support of newly installed equipment, working closely with other Engineers and contracted electricians, etc.
-Maintaining print library and uploading new schematics, as needed.
-Performs research on electrical components and their capabilities.
-Support Safety, Lean and other Operational priorities, by contributing to other projects, as assigned.

What will you need?
Requires a Associate’s Degree in Electrical Drafting or a related field
7-10 years of experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD electrical with a good understanding of UL508A, NFPA 70E and NEC code requirements.
Good understanding of short circuit current rating.
Journeyman Electrician a plus
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
Annual OSHA training, as required
