Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the Electrical Team Hospitality and Entertainment MEP projects in the Denver, Colorado office. 

 

What a day at EXP has in store for you

Proficient in producing working Revit MEP drawings/models. Proficient visualizing systems in a 3D environment and utilizing clash detection software (IE: Interference Watcher). Prepare Revit floor plans showing electrical device layouts, circuitry, fixtures, equipment, etc. with limited input from Engineers. Assist Engineer with calculations using SKM Powertools for available fault current and implement proper AIC ratings of equipment. Perform overcurrent coordination studies using SKM Powertools for proper coordination of overcurrent devices.  Prepare one-line diagrams with input from Engineers Prepare calculations for electrical loads and panel schedules. Code research to comply with building codes, NFPA , Energy Codes etc. Demonstrates knowledge of lighting, photometrics, and lighting controls. Understands and applies concepts of voltage drop, conductor sizing, etc. Edit electrical specifications to reflect project requirements with input from Engineers. Layout fire alarm devices on floor plans. Exposure to equipment room sizing and layouts during the SD phase. Ability to direct an EL1 or Interns on a limited basis. Select and schedule equipment with limited oversight by Engineers. Meet with vendors to get exposure to specification requirements for different applications. Participates in field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects Initiates coordination of space and utility requirements with other disciplines (PL, MX, Arch, Struct, etc.). Maintain the discipline Engineering Calcs and equipment selections for the project. Respond to RFI’s for the project, and accurately review submittals with limited input from Engineer. Exposure and general awareness of risk management procedures to minimize EXP and client’s exposure. Exposure to work planning and tailoring design process to the available hours in work plan for a project. Understand proper scope of SD, DD, CD level documents – and deliver appropriate documentation. Work with PC, PM, and Clients to meet scheduled project milestones. Manage and deliver drawings and revisions for various milestones. Understands and properly applies existing EXP details relevant to projects. Ability to comprehend drawings of other disciplines (MX, PL, arch, struct, civil etc.). Applying EXP standards and practices (IE: training materials, OneNote, etc.) to each project. Market Sector – Generally understands differences in design requirements or approaches between sectors.  Professionalism: Appropriate written and verbal communications skills. Professional presentation external and internal to office. (IE: attire, engagement, meeting prep, etc.) Actively participates in voluntary training opportunities such as vendor lunch and learns. (IE: engage and ask questions) Positively contributes to EXP and local office culture.

 

What your experience looks like

Minimum of one year experience in related design of hospitality, entertainment and building projects. Engineering Degree (BS Architectural Engineering, or BS Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree) Revit MEP proficient FE Certification (Fundamentals In Engineering) preferred but not required Ability to travel

 

The pay range for this role is $75,000 to $1000,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
