Responsibilities Leadership and Direction Perform work under direct supervision of an experienced professional and follow established procedures and clearly defined processes. Receive direction on all aspects of assignments, specific tasks and how to execute. Work is thoroughly reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound techniques and principles. At the Operational and Company Level Work closely with more senior staff members to learn and assist in design work. Do the Work Transform initial sketches and rough product designs into working documents using CAD or similar engineering design software platform. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to integrate electrical designs with mechanical, structural, and other plan components. Utilize design tools, networks, tool palettes, and templates to complete design work. Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create accurate and comprehensive electrical drawings and diagrams. Assist in developing and reviewing completed engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. Assist senior level staff or management with clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams on moderately complex project issues, providing design support and problem solving. Work closely with the project manager to determine if scope of work or budgets need to be revised. Attend group meetings regarding projects. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required. Associate’s degree in computer aided drafting/design and electrical or equivalent degree preferred. Entry level position, no prior experience required. Any drafting and engineering technician experience in electrical, construction, or utilities a plus. Experience with computer applications and engineering design software such as AutoCAD/Revit, and familiarity with reading construction plans. Familiarity with practices and procedures pertaining to technical matters to include construction, manufacturing, substation design, and electrical engineering. Knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity preferred. Physical Demands and Working Environment Primarily indoor professional office environment, which can consist of possible bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic. Mobility around an office environment, occasional squat or kneel. Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds. Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds. Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder. Salary and eligible variable compensation (if any) commensurate with experience.
