Electrical Designer
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 7 years in performing design of electrical systems. Ability to proficiently design and revise electrical drawings including elementary diagrams, connection drawings, panel outline drawings, vendor documents, cable tray and conduit layout drawings etc. Must be able to take verbal and written conceptual information from engineers and technical employees in order to independently develop detailed designs with all necessary documentation.
This position requires the use of Microstation Version 8 computer aided drafting system to create and revise drawings. Familiarity with electronic document management systems and the use of Intergraph IRAS/B for modifying raster images in Microstation Version 8 or ability to quickly learn the use of these tools.
Experience with bringing documents up to as-built conditions. Ability to conduct field walk downs inside the plant.
Ability to complete assignments within allocated time through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and execution of assigned work.
Good verbal communications/interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide diversity of personnel with varying technical backgrounds including engineers, vendors, craft, and management.
Good general computer skills including Windows, Lotus Notes, and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel),
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
AAS degree in electrical discipline.
Experience in working with nuclear generating facility drawings.
Experience in working with instrument details.
POSITION MAY REQUIRE: Overtime or occasional weekend work.
NORMAL SCHEDULE: 40 work hours per week. 10 hour work day, Monday through Thursday, with a one-half hour break for lunch and a 15 minute break in the morning and in the afternoon.
WORK LOCATION: Huntersville, North Carolina.
