Electrical Engineer – Madison WI (Onsite)

Seeking two experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Engineers. This onsite role involves hands-on collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, focusing on the design, evaluation, and validation of electrical systems and circuits. The position also includes a strong emphasis on compliance and regulatory updates, working closely with manufacturing and quality assurance teams.

In this role, you will engage with design processes and problem-solving in circuit breaker systems, working on power circuits, relays, control cards, chip placement, and transitioning designs from 5 volts to 3 volts. Knowledge of embedded codes will also be utilized to support advanced system integration and testing. This is an exciting opportunity for engineers with experience in power electronics, controls, and embedded systems to contribute to innovative and impactful projects.

Key Responsibilities

Schematic Design and Circuit Evaluation:Read, interpret, and create new electrical schematics.Evaluate and redesign control and power electrical circuitsAddress design problems with circuit breakers, power circuits, relays, and control cards.Validate and test design changes to ensure performance, safety, and reliability.Chip Placement and Embedded Code:Work with chip placement on control cards and other circuit components.Utilize embedded code for system functionality, integration, and optimization.Debug and troubleshoot embedded systems to ensure smooth operation.Collaborative Design and Testing:Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and software engineers to evaluate and test design changes and improvements.Provide technical insights during product development, ensuring compatibility and performance across systems.Compliance and Regulatory Support:Collaborate with manufacturing and compliance engineers to update regulatory files, including UL, ETL, CE, and other compliance standards.Ensure all designs meet applicable regulatory and safety requirements.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain detailed records of design changes, test results, and validation processes.Prepare technical documentation for internal and external use.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, focusing on circuit design, evaluation, and testing.Strong background in power electronics (e.g., inverters, converters, circuit breakers) and control systems.Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, with experience in creating new designs.Hands-on experience with power circuits, relays, control cards, and chip placement.Knowledge of embedded systems, including coding and debugging for functionality.Familiarity with transitioning circuits between voltage levels (e.g., 5 volts to 3 volts).Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance processes (UL, ETL, CE, etc.).Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in manufacturing environments or working closely with manufacturing engineers.Proficiency with software tools such as AutoCAD, Altium, MATLAB, or similar.Familiarity with microcontrollers, PLCs, or other control system components.Prior experience managing regulatory file updates and compliance-related tasks.
