Job Title: Electrical Engineer 2

About Us: Actalent is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer 2 to join our Facilities Engineering (TENF) and Telecommunications (TENP) groups within the Transmission Services (T) business line. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure projects and ensure the efficiency and safety of our electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the point of contact and subject matter expert for buildings and building systems, including substation control houses, telecommunication buildings, and other supporting facilities.Conduct site assessments, planning, design, and design submittal reviews.Assist the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) with Requests for Information (RFIs), construction field inspections, and project closeout.Provide electrical engineering and design support for building electrical systems, including low voltage (50V – 240V) industrial power distribution systems.Review and check electrical design drawings and specifications developed by external AE design contractors.Design and review AE submittals for building alarm systems, engine generators, HVAC systems, and gas detectors.Conduct station service load flow, arc flash studies, and short circuit analyses for 50V – 480V distribution systems.Apply industry codes and standards to ensure compliance with NEC and NESC requirements.Provide technical input and recommendations for the development of building facility equipment.Maintain and manage documents and records in accordance with compliance requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school.Minimum of 5 years of work-related experience in electrical engineering.Experience with the design and engineering of low and medium voltage systems in compliance with various codes.Knowledge of power systems, power distribution, and utilization, including transformers, panelboards, standby engine-generators, motors, lighting systems, fire alarm systems, cabling, and grounding.Understanding of electrical safety standards, regulations, and code requirements (NESC).Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other industry standards (NFPA, IEEE, ANSI).Strong organizational and communication skills.Proficiency in electrical system short circuit and arc flash studies.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Familiarity with electrical system short circuit and arc flash studies.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00
