About Us: Actalent is seeking a skilled and motivated Contract Electrical Engineer 3 to join our Facilities Engineering (TENF) Group within the Transmission Services (T) business line. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure projects and ensure the efficiency and safety of our electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the point of contact and subject matter expert for buildings and building systems, including substation control houses, telecommunication buildings, and other supporting facilities.Conduct site assessments, planning, design, and design submittal reviews.Assist the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) with Requests for Information (RFIs), construction field inspections, and project closeout.Perform electrical engineering and design for building electrical systems, including low voltage (50V – 480V) industrial power distribution systems.Review and check electrical design drawings and specifications developed by external AE contractors.Design and review AE submittals for building alarm systems, engine generators, HVAC systems, and gas detectors.Conduct station service load flow, arc flash studies, and short circuit analyses for 50V – 480V distribution systems.Facilitate and promote the development of state-of-the-art applications and technology advancements for low voltage electrical systems within facilities.Identify and analyze problems associated with complex applications of low voltage electrical systems, ensuring compliance with standards and codes.Coordinate with various design teams on low voltage power distribution and power feeds connecting to high voltage substation equipment.Assist with the development and recommendation of industry codes, design standards, application policies, and installation procedures for electrical systems and equipment.Review projects and electrical systems under construction to assess conformance to plans, specifications, and codes.Visit existing and proposed substation sites to verify design prints, meet with electricians, and coordinate on-site activities.Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school.Minimum of 10 years of work-related experience in electrical engineering.At least 7 years of experience with the design and engineering of low and medium voltage systems in compliance with various codes, standards, and safety requirements.Knowledge of power systems, power distribution, and utilization, including transformers, panelboards, standby engine-generators, motors, lighting systems, fire alarm systems, cabling, and grounding.Excellent understanding of electrical safety standards, regulations, and code requirements (NESC).Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other industry standards (NFPA, IEEE, ANSI).Strong organizational and communication skills.Proficiency in electrical system short circuit and arc flash studies.Preferred Skills & Experience:
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Familiarity with electrical system short circuit and arc flash studies.Ability to contribute to the creation of standards for design, operation, and maintenance, incorporating industry best practices.Ability to work independently and prioritize assignments.Ability to meet timelines, milestones, and deliverables, and provide timely status updates.Why Join Us?

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00
