Job Summary:

Primus Design Services is searching for an accomplished, experienced electrical engineer with the passion and motivation to contribute to innovative, industry-leading projects. The electrical engineer will collaborate with a variety of colleagues across project teams from engineering and project management to implementation and construction. In addition to being a team player, our ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver who finds pragmatic solutions to highly technical challenges. This is predominantly a design role, but some duties will include elements of project management. In addition to producing accurate and timely technical designs in a traditional plan and spec. format, the applicant will be expected to work in a team approach to deliver solutions.

Electrical Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:

System coordination with the service provider and detailed design of site primary power supply routings and equipment placements from the site boundary to the utility transformer usually located near the building. Develop and learn the power diversity for industrial installations and communicate expectations to the service provider and the in-house management team. Design of all secondary power systems (usually 480 volts and below) that serve the Refrigeration, HVAC, and Automation equipment. Main Electrical Utility Room Design inclusive of equipment placements and clearances, switchgear sizes, generators, transfer switches, etc. Power and lighting plans and details for site and building interior, panelboard schedules, one-line diagrams, etc. Criteria documents for telephone and internet service to and within the buildings. Layout of telephone and computer outlets, internet hot spots and wireless systems coordination and definition. Paging, security, CCTV etc. systems as applicable. Fire alarm system drawings (FACP location, pull stations, horns, strobes, valve, and flow monitoring, etc.) for final detailed design by the successful fire alarm system contractor. Detailed power connections to equipment. Design functional electrical systems through the development and testing of components. Research and design components for electrical equipment and systems for use in commercial, cold-storage, and medical sterilization facilities. Research and test manufacturing and assembly processes; develop innovative processes to improve or modify current methods. Conduct research to collect and analyze data to create reports about ongoing projects. Comply with local, state, and federal regulations to uphold the companys reputation. Communicate engineering information across teams and departments to facilitate successful completion of large-scale projects. Troubleshoot to solve unforeseen problems with design or implementation. Maintain detailed database to catalog products and component parts.

Electrical Engineer Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in electrical engineering EIT Required, PE Preferred Previous work experience in electrical engineering or related position Proficient in the use of computer-aided design software applications specifically AutoCAD and Revit Ability to write clearly about highly technical subject matter Thorough understanding of electronic systems and component materials Capacity to analyze a problem from multiple perspectives and explore creative solutions Exceptional verbal and written communication skills High attention to detail with a desire for excellence
