Your work environment at EXP

 

In this role, you will be a part of the Electrical team, for Science, Technology and Life Sciences MEP projects in the Glendale, California office.

 

What a day at EXP has in store for you

Effectively lead and mentor Designer level staff in both technical and non-technical skills. QC own work and work of Designer level staff (IE: drawings, RFI answers, submittal reviews). Participate with Sr. Engineer in determining content of drawings and specs to meet the scope of work. Editing EXP master specifications as required for project needs with Sr. Engineer oversight. Travel to project site to review progress of work and document via written field report. Successfully solve problems within time & budget. Assist in the development and monitoring of Electrical work plans. General knowledge of NEC, other applicable codes, and standards and ability to incorporate into designs. Assist Sr. Engineer in writing studies and reports for Electrical systems on projects. Assists in complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination. Contributes to revisions of company design standards and master specifications. Market Sector – Understands differences in design requirements or approaches between sectors. Assist in evaluating Value Engineering (cost cutting) items with respect to EXP’s level of risk. Understand and implement Basis of Design narratives into DD and CD drawings. Apply knowledge of lighting, photometrics, and lighting controls into design drawings and specifications. Performs field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects with minimal assistance. Participates in meetings with contractors during bid phase to review the design details. Assist in evaluating contractor pricing and cost estimates. Demonstrate presentation skills through internal technical presentations to coworkers (electrical or other). Actively participate in voluntary training opportunities such as vendor lunch and learns. (IE: engage and ask questions). Positively contribute to EXP and local office culture.

 

What your experience looks like

Minimum of five years’ experience in related design of Science & Technology, Correctional and Critical, Life Sciences, Research and Development, Pharmaceutical and other Facilities systems and building projects. Engineering Degree (BS Architectural Engineering, or BS Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree) Revit MEP proficient PE License is preferred Ability to travel locally.

 

The pay range for this role is  $83,000-$136,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
