There are three primary areas of focus for this role:

Business Development/Project Inception: significant contribution to the business development activities of MEP team (Electrical Services & Sustainable development) through the following:
- The promotion of the relevant businesses
- Success in development and procurement of worthwhile projects to ensure the maintenance of workflow, not only to the MEP team but also to other teams across the Division

Technical/Project Management: As part of the MEP team, to provide input into the overall running of projects (particularly in the Electrical Services area) to ensure successful project delivery, and the ongoing development of the Team’s effective project management and technical capability.

Managerial: To contribute to the strategic development of the MEP business, including (but not limited to) the positioning of the business within the local marketplace, business plan development and evaluation, and the ongoing development of associated skills and procedures within the Unit.


The Opportunity

Hands on concept and detailed Electrical design for a range of projects, in a lead discipline engineer role. Provide design calculations, drawings and specifications. Produce project related correspondence and reports and be part of a team that effectively wins and undertakes projects across the MEP and Buildings market. Management of small project teams. Where you will endeavour to develop and administer project monitoring, control mechanisms, and deliver quality work within the MEP team. Working directly with clients and other professionals with minimal supervision. Develop and maintain good relationships with industry networks, clients, government agencies, sub-consultants and construction contractors relevant to the MEP team’s activities.

Is this role right for you?

Recognized relevant tertiary qualifications in Bachelor of Electrical Engineering At least 3 years of detailed electrical design with DC experience preferred in an engineering consultancy. Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership. Good working knowledge of relevant local and international legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines. Ability to communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments, effective written communication and report writing skills.
