Kimley-Horn's Sacramento, CA office is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Electrical team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities Design of electrical systems including solar, battery storage, and electric vehicle chargingDelegate tasks to junior staff or other team membersQA/QC design documentsReview, comment and approve equipment submittalsp4Respond to RFI’sConduct or oversee power system studies such as short circuit, thermal ampacity, and load flowTechnical problem solving and resolvingParticipate on project teams in an active production roleParticipate in project meetings internally and externally with clientsPreparation of project specificationsSupport senior staff with preparing electrical design cost estimates and proposalsDaily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplinesCoordination and verification of as-built drawingsPerform quality work that promotes client retentionResponsible for the development of reports and design documents, including solar photovoltaic electrical site plans, equipment selection, photovoltaic module string sizing calculations, ampacity calculations and wire sizing Qualifications 4+ years of design experience in electrical engineering specifically in any of the following: Solar PV design, Battery energy storage, or energy modelingBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (advanced degrees are a plus)PE or ability to obtain within 1 yearUnderstanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards, and energy codesProficiency using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD) Previous experience with solar production modeling is a plusPrevious experience with electrical solar photovoltaic design or battery storage is a plusPassion for renewablesElectrical Power System Studies, Electrical lighting, and fire alarm design experience desiredSuperior verbal and written communication skillsThe ability to work independently or in a team environment effectivelyThe ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment

Salary Range: 

$130,000 - $180,000
