Summary: Seeking Electrical Engineers for aircraft modification and design, providing technical guidance and developing engineering data in compliance with FAA standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or related scientific field, or equivalent experience/coursework.
For Level 3: Six years of industry experience in electrical/avionic design for transport category aircraft.
For Level 1: Entry-level position, aero background with CAD proficiency acceptable.
Three years of AutoCAD or comparable program experience with demonstrable proficiency.
Knowledge of FAA regulations, certification processes, and requirements.
Comprehensive knowledge of standard aircraft components, materials, fabrication practices, aviation hardware, and proper application in design.
Expertise in engineering principles for Electrical Load Analysis and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis reports.
Extensive knowledge of personal computer systems including Microsoft Office.
Proficiency in using technical data such as engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, service bulletins, illustrated parts catalogs, wiring diagrams etc.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Master's Degree in Engineering.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical support/guidance to various engineering disciplines on projects involved.
Guide less experienced Engineers through designs; act as mentor/resource.
Develop statements of work from limited customer specifications and aircraft surveys.
Research/review engineering data to determine efficient modification/alteration methods.
Produce design data for manufacture/assembly/installation of aircraft modifications/components.
Perform preliminary engineering analysis for substantiating aircraft modifications.
Check design data produced by junior Design Engineers.
Coordinate Certification/Substantiation activities with Engineering UM's & ODA staff.
Interface with departments to ensure customer & regulatory requirements are met; collaborate with Substantiation group & ODA reps for FAA compliance designs.
Convert modification specs into engineering design data for part manufacturing/installation.
Support design review meetings with customers.
Provide technical support to Manufacturing during manufacturing/installation phases.
Supervise installation at remote locations; conduct audits/surveys at customer facilities. Support other Engineering groups as needed; suggest improvements to department procedures/systems. Collaborate professionally with customers/manufacturers/vendors/FAA to promote/support HAECO interests.Pay Details: $35.00 to $55.00 per hour
