Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer - MEP

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our MEP Engineering Division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing lighting and power construction drawings and specifications, coordinating with mechanical engineers/designers, running load calculations, and reviewing shop drawings and submittals.

ResponsibilitiesDesign lighting and power systems for both new construction and renovations.Create plans and schematics, perform calculations necessary for equipment selections, and provide systems narratives and specifications.Create and detail panel schedules, one-line diagrams, risers, and lighting fixture schedules.Review drawings for quality control.Perform field investigations and construction administration.Provide company representation at owner/architect/contractor meetings.Mentor and direct a team of designers and support personnel.Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical EngineeringLicensed Professional Engineer (Texas)NCEES registration (or ability to acquire within 6 months)1-2 years of experience in the design of commercial/office/retail/industrial facility projectsExperience with AutoCADExperience with MS OfficeGood working knowledge of industry standards, practices, and codesAbility to direct a team of designers and support personnelExcellent time and project management skillsExcellent verbal and graphic communication, organizational, and collaborative skillsAdditional Skills & Qualifications6+ years of experienceExperience in the design of commercial, retail, light industrial, medical office, education, and emergency power systemsAbility to produce lighting plans, power plans, photometric plans, and specificationsExperience with AutoCAD & AutoCAD MEPProficiency in Revit, MEP design, and MEP engineeringWork Environment

The position is based onsite in Plano with the possibility of a hybrid work schedule. The company is privately owned by two individuals and features a smaller, relaxed team environment.
