Electrical Engineer
Job Title: Electrical Engineer Job Description Position Overview: As an Electrical Engineer, you will lead and supervise the work of junior engineers, interface with project managers, clients, and other design consultants. You will provide technical guidance across all aspects of electrical system design including building electrical service and distribution, lighting systems and controls, on-site generation, and nanogrid/microgrid development. You will play a key role in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet project deadlines and objectives. Responsibilities + Lead design efforts for the analysis of electrical systems, utilizing engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements. + Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively. Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication. + Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects. Lead efforts in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives. + Analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions. Collaborate with engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions. + Provide in-process design reviews of electrical system design, calculations, and specifications. + Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts. + Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals. + Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phase. + Apply advanced knowledge of building codes and standards. + Provide technical guidance and participate in training of junior engineers. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited program. + 8-15 years of experience ideally (consideration for 6-7 years if exceptionally strong). + Minimum of 5 years in the MEP space. + PE License (or near completion). + Proficiency with Revit. + Proficient with industry standard engineering software and tools including power system analysis and design software such as SKM/PTW, Easy Power, or other, and energy compliance software such as ComCheck. Work Environment The company operates with a start-up mindset and is known for high-performance building and net zero projects. The work environment includes a hybrid model with 3 days in the office (T-TH) and 2 days from home. The electrical team consists of roughly 10 members, with the lighting and technology designers bringing the total to 15.
