A sustainable design engineering firm located in Chicago is looking to add an Electrical Engineer to their team!
About:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead and supervise the work of junior engineers and interface with project managers, clients, and other design consultants. Will provide technical guidance to clients across all aspects of electrical system design including building electrical service and distribution, lighting systems and controls, on-site generation, and nanogrid/microgrid development.
Responsibilities:
Lead design efforts for the analysis of electrical systems, utilizing engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirementsInteract with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively; Build and maintain client relationships through professional communicationWork as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects; Lead efforts in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectivesAnalyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions; Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutionsProvide in-process design reviews of electrical system design, calculations, and specificationsContribute to research, development, and innovation efforts Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goalsOversee projects through bidding and construction administration phaseApply advanced knowledge of building codes and standardsProvide technical guidance and participate in training of junior engineersQualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering program6+ years of experienceMinimum of 5 years in the MEP spacePE License (or in-process of pursuing this)Revit proficiencyProficient with industry standard engineering software and tools including power system analysis and design software such as SKM/PTW, Easy Power, or other; and energy compliance software such as ComCheckProficient with Adobe or Bluebeam RevuAbout ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
