JOB DESCRIPTION:
The qualified candidate will join the Fluke Engineering team, based in Everett, WA and be responsible for designing, innovating and improving electronic circuits or other hardware elements of Fluke products. The engineer will collaborate with business and engineering leadership teams and will help maintain and implement the product vision, roadmap, and product initiatives. The role requires a person who can team-up with a diverse and very skilled team of engineers, collaborate on tasks across global sites and functions, and derive clear direction from ambiguity.
Responsibilities Design and/or improve the design of analog and digital hardware for varied customer applications Work with internal and external teams to develop, improve, and maintain Fluke Test and Measurement products Participate in design for reliability, error analysis, design for manufacturing, and compliance with international standards Evaluate the feasibility of different engineering approaches to resolve hardware/software implementation tradeoffs and other technical problems Board bring-up, problem solving, and debugging Partner with test engineers to develop and implement design validation plans for new and existing products to ensure quality designs Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics or similar Engineering domain Experience in PCA-level analog design through hardware product development process Knowledgeable with board bring-up, understanding of microprocessor/micro-controller based architectures and low-level peripherals such as I2C, eMMC, SPI, USB, UARTs Familiarity with Hardware and Firmware system integration areas Knowledgeable in ECAD design tools including the Cadence suite Familiarity with circuit troubleshooting, electromagnetic compliance and international safety standards and compliance Effective communication and teamwork Demonstrated characteristics Exhibits a drive to deliver results; moves with a sense of urgency and drives daily progress, even on complex issues. Initiative-taker with the ability to quickly learn/teach and adapt to new complex technical challenges. Can lead small design projects to completion. Creative and innovative, an outside-the-box problem solver. Professional, positive, and proactive approach, strong in working in diverse environments Ability to influence others to advise, convince, and persuade others to action on key initiatives. Demonstrated team building and collaborative skills.
